Mary Wollstonecraft (1759-1797) is regarded as a founding feminist philosopher whose book ‘A Vindication of the Rights of Woman’ argues that women are not in any way inferior to men but lack the educational opportunities of men. She suggests that men and women should be treated as rational beings and proposes a social order founded on reason.
